WOW! We did it! Nancy was completely surprised - had no clue. I want to thank everyone for making this such a great surprise party for her 50th birthday, and in helping me put it all together. Nearly everyone attended (32 out of 36), the restaurant was wonderful, food great, and service excellent. The slide show presentation - my Birthday Card to Nancy - was well recieved. My thanks to everyone for enduring the nostalgic look at some of Nancy's childhood photographs.

A special thanks to John Kelly for his untiring friendship to Nancy and I, without whose help I could not have created the deception to actually get Nancy to the restaurant. My hat is off to you my little brother, I owe you. Thanks to Joyce also. She was instrumental in getting Nancy to Macy's and out of the house, thus coaxing her to end up coming to Remomo's.

After the event, a few of us went back to the house for coffee. Me? I went to bed at 9:30, I was exhausted.

So far, so good.

Nancy is still unaware. Many folks have responded and plan to attend - about 35 now. Going to cost me small fortune, but hey, she's worth it.

The current plan is to somehow get Nancy to showup at the Remomo's Cafe at 3:30PM. Just how I still haven't figured out yet since I am supposedly off to the airport at 2:15, arriving at the restaurant at about 2:30. I have two plans in the making to get Nancy there at the designated time - the trick is to not alert her that something is up. I think I can pull it off.

Well, on this anniversary of "9/11" Nancy is waffling about a party on Saturday night. She's despondant that too few people are available (about 12). So, she is considering just having folks meet for a movie. Everyone should hold the course and try not to get involved for Saturday - particularly if you are coming to the surprise party on Sunday. So far, for Sunday I have about 25 confirmed - should be great fun. I haven't heard back from about 8 people, so I will be calling.

Thanks to everyone for making this a success - so far Nancy still knows nothing.

Nancy was trying to plan a party for Sunday at 4. Last night I told her that I have to fly to New Orleans Sunday for business. Discouraged, she now plans to have a gathering on Saturday night at 7pm (Sep 15). She was saddened and resentful that I was not excited about her birthday plans - I guess I underplayed it too much. Anyway, she wanted me to be more active in putting together a celebration and gave me responsibility of organizing the party for Saturday - plus cleaning the house, plus refurbishing the wood flooring, etc.

BUT, it is to my advantage. I can plan and "sadly" inform her that not many people will be coming Saturday night. She doesn't have a clue - extraordinary considering I usually can't get anything past her.

So ... the surprise is still on for Sunday the 16th at 3:00pm. I will be contacting everyone about Saturday night. Don't worry about making it to that event - I only need about 6 - 8 folks to agree to Saturday night, the rest should decline. So far I think I have about 4.
